Since childhood, drawing has been both a form of play and a friend to me.

While drawing steadily, I unexpectedly gained the opportunity to exhibit my work at an exhibition promoting disability awareness. Preparing for this exhibition marked the beginning of my serious pursuit of drawing.

Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, I naturally drew a lot when feeling lonely or bored. Even after entering university, when facing difficulties in an unfamiliar environment, drawing became a great source of comfort. I noticed that drawing made difficult emotions disappear or lessen, which made me focus even more intently on my work.

I enjoy drawing animals the most. In high school, while majoring in digital content, I created illustrations of my family dog to make grip-tops and memo pads. I love working with various materials and am challenging myself with multiple techniques like acrylic painting, oil painting, folk painting, and digital drawing.

Seeing animal depictions in folk paintings at an exhibition particularly inspired me to start exploring this style. Initially, painting on hanji felt challenging, but as I grew accustomed to it, I discovered the joy of working with new materials. Lately, I've been practicing portraiture, focusing on capturing distinctive features from photographs. Hearing comments like "You drew that well!" or "It looks just like them!" brings me immense joy.

I didn't major in art, but I love painting and keep working hard. Someday, I want to hold a solo exhibition to share the value of my art and express the stories I wish to convey through my work. Even though I started painting late, I want to show that passion and effort make anything possible.

Regardless of disability or developmental differences, I hope our thoughts and stories reach the world clearly.

I aspire to be an artist who connects with many people through art and conveys heartfelt messages.

어린 시절부터 그림은 저에게 놀이이자 친구였습니다.

꾸준히 그림을 그려오던 중, 우연한 기회로 장애 인식 개선 전시회에서 작품을 선보일 기회를 얻었고, 이를 준비하면서 

본격적으로 그림을 시작하게 되었습니다.

특히 코로나 시기에는 외롭거나 심심할 때 자연스럽게 그림을 많이 그리게 되었고, 대학 진학 후 익숙하지 않은 환경에서 힘들 때도 그림이 큰 위로가 되었습니다. 그림을 그리면 힘든 감정이 사라지거나 줄어드는 것을 느끼면서 더욱 열심히 작업에 몰두하게 되었습니다.

저는 동물을 그릴 때 가장 즐겁습니다. 고등학교 시절에는 디지털 콘텐츠 과정을 전공하며 우리 집 강아지를 일러스트로 제작해 그립톡과 메모지를 만들기도 했습니다. 다양한 재료로 작업하는 것을 좋아하며, 아크릴화, 유화, 민화, 디지털 드로잉 등 여러 기법에 도전하고 있습니다.

특히 전시회에서 민화 작품 속 동물 표현을 보고 영감을 받아 민화에 도전하기 시작했습니다. 처음에는 한지에 그리는 것이 어렵게 느껴졌지만, 점점 익숙해지면서 새로운 재료를 활용하는 재미도 깨닫게 되었습니다. 요즘은 인물화를 연습하며 사진 속 특징을 살려 표현하는 데 집중하고 있는데, "잘 그렸네." "비슷한데!"라는 말을 들을 때 큰 기쁨을 느낍니다.

저는 미술을 전공하진 않았지만, 그림을 좋아하고 꾸준히 노력하고 있습니다. 언젠가 개인전을 열어 제 그림의 가치를 알리고, 작품을 통해 세상에 전하고 싶은 이야기를 표현하고 싶습니다. 그림을 늦게 시작했지만, 열정을 갖고 노력하면 할 수 있다는 것을 보여주고 싶습니다.

장애와 발달장애에 상관없이,

우리의 생각과 이야기가 세상에 잘 전달되었으면 합니다.

그림을 통해 많은 사람들과 소통하고,

따뜻한 메시지를 전할 수 있는 작가가 되고 싶습니다.
