CHUNG YOUNG SOOK
Artist Youngsook Jung contemplates and reflects on the coexistence and symbiosis between nature and human life.
She expresses the invisible moments that exist within the natural world through lines and textures using traditional Korean hanji (mulberry paper). Through this, she embodies the inherent order of coexistence embedded in the relationship between nature and humanity.
By transforming hanji, a traditional Korean material imbued with cultural value, into painterly works through a craft-based process, she seeks harmony between craft and painting, and between tradition and modernity.
